Wе һаνе a waterbed, bυt wе want tο bυу a standard mattress. Tһе waterbed frame іѕ a wooden box frame wіtһ a nice wooden headboard. I’d Ɩіkе tο keep іt іf possible. Hаѕ anybody done tһіѕ?

Yes it’s simple. Just put your mattress in the old frame. Or you can remove the head board and attach to the frame the mattress dealer should be giving you for free.
Edit. I slept in a water bed for 4 years and hated it. I was so glad the day it popped. I couldn’t wait to sleep in a real bed. Good luck and good sleeping.
i have done this with a king size tho i had to modify the sides to make wider and cut off the length ,
Yes you can all you are doing is making it a platform bed just measure the frame inside dimensions and the mattress’s out side ones to insure a good fit. You won’t need a box spring so the mattress may cost a bit more as they like to sell sets so shop around.

Yes I have one that way and love it. Mine is queen and fits fine. I do have a box spring which makes it a little higher but that has worked fine.
